I am not a vegetarian although I have tried and failed, I read a book Ranulph Fiennes that crazy explorer and he said we were desinged only to eat fruit and veg because of our teeth / tongue. So we evolved by watching the dinosaurs perhaps?

mmh, yeah, but look at our teeth and compare them to a lions - which do you think is made for ripping meat? Lions have huge strong teeth for killing and eating animals like deers, but ours are small, and would probably break if we ate a bone, haha. Lions have bodies that are designed to eat and digest raw meat, but humans can't eat raw meat as our bodies aren't designed for it and it makes us sick. So we cook it. But if we can't eat it naturally like lions then we can't really be mad to eat it, can we? Here's something I got off the net
Aren't We Designed to Eat Meat? Not at all. Many people say that we are meat-eaters because we have sharp teeth. This is like judging a book by its cover. Look inside and you will find out what is really going on. Our digestive system resembles that of the herbivores and the frugivores (fruit-eaters). It consists of a very long intestine allowing slow digestion of nutrients. By contrast, carnivores have a short digestive tract designed so that meat can quickly pass through the body before it putrefies and becomes toxic. To compensate for this rapid transition, carnivores have a stomach acid concentration 10 times greater than that of vegetarian mammals (including humans) to enable them to quickly digest the meat. When humans eat meat it begins to putrefy before leaving the body, often resulting in disorders as diverse as constipation and bowel cancer if eaten persistently over a period of time. Sure, the more fibre eaten with meat, the quicker it passes through the intestines, but why eat meat at all? Only vegetable matter contains fibre and a good vegetarian diet provides all the fibre the body needs without having to add extra"artificially". If you are serious about lowering your cholesterol intake, a vegetarian diet is the best way to go since only animal products contain cholesterol.

my opinion comes from the theory of evolution. so not all people will agree i believe we evolved from primates, who were ominivores. we adapted and hunted animals and ate fruits etc in old times, as we progressed to modern say, people began to question the welfare of animals and health benifits from a meat-free diet.

Evolution wise, seeing as we would have evolved from apes, eating a sheep would be like eating a person. So I'm surprised athiests would eat meat, but think "yuck" to a human. But, I am a christian [for some reason I was just gonna say "human"]

"I couldn't knaw on bones like a lion, so maybe I'm not cut out for meat. I'm astounded that you, like a lion, can kill a deer and rip flesh off its bones. Amazing." haha people dont get that "natural" is how a lion/carnivore does it. NOT sitting by the TV and eating chicken-flavoured chips
